Our Mission is to:
To bring the strength of African American religious leadership in the state to the forefront of American life, with special emphasis on public issues growing out of problems of African Americans as a racial and cultural minority:
To lift the level of African Americans economically, socially and morally, by every means appropriate to, and in unison with the spirit and teachings of Christian faith;
To unite African American churchmen throughout the state, in order to effect strategies related to the empowerment of the African American community; and
To enhance the contribution of African American churches and churchmen and their participation in the larger religious fellowship across racial and denomination lines.

The Black Ministers Council of New Jersey will have its Annual State Conference September 29th and 30th at St. Matthew AME Church, 336 Oakwood Avenue, Orange, New Jersey. Theme for the conference is, "Educating, Empowering and Equipping: Serving the Present Age." The conference agenda is intended to address major issues that impact and confront the African American community and urban areas of the state. These include improving public urban schools, “greening” urban centers to create jobs and improve the quality of life and proposals for healthcare reform being considered by Congress.
