About BMC of NJ
The Black Ministers' Council of New Jersey represents more than 600 African American churches in the State of New Jersey. The BMC has been outspoken on almost every major issue in the state. The BMC is dedicated to uniting African American churchmen throughout the state, in order to effect strategies related to the empowerment of the African American community. The council became prominent in the news when members insisted that racial profiling was a widespread reality in New Jersey and other states. The council's activism helped goad investigations and admissions concerning the practice. The council has selected education, health care, inner-city revitalization and economic development, and political education and empowerment as special interests.
